PCW02 Lotus 72 No.22 Monza GP 1970 Jochen Rindt.

On September 5, 1970, in preparation for the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, Lotus driver and Formula One World Championship leader Jochen Rindt crashed during practice. He sadly died on impact. By the end of the season, no one had been able to usurp his points lead, and he became F1's first and only posthumous World Champion.

The Policar Lotus 72 chassis has a double gear reduction with a pair of idler gears parallel to the rear axle. This design allows the final drive gear to be small enough to create a relistic rear end  without having to change the body to fit a large crown gear.
